About the Blog
One starry starry night in October 2006, in the easter part of a small island called Singapore, an angel fell from the sky.
She nearly flattened a man called Chuck. But as fate would have it, she landed in the chair next to him.
And so they started talking. Not much that night. Because she was just sitting there with her pretty angel wings, looking at him with her pretty angel eyes.
While he talked and talked and talked.
The angel and the man started going out. And they talked on MSN every chance they could. Then one night soon after, she said, “The ball’s in your court.”
He was very happy.
And so they became lovers. This angel with many names. She told him she’s called GiGi.
Then he found out she’s also called Geraldine.
And Run Run, and Noon Noon…
So he gave up, and decided to call her Baobei instead.
He resolved to give her happiness. So one day as the angel lay sleeping, he whispered softly, “我一定会给你幸福.”
He was surprised to see her eyes suddenly spring open. And the most beautiful smile dawned across her face.
And so he found out that day, that angels never sleep.
Many happy months passed. In June 2007, they started looking for a house.
Because while angels do not sleep, they still need a roof. A place to put up their pretty feet.
6 months and 40 viewings later, they still hadn’t found one. But I guess they should have seen it coming.
After all, angels don’t just live anywhere, you know?
Just when it looked like the angel and her man will never find a home, the stars winked.
They arranged to view this little house one evening. It was old and yellow. It was cramped with old furniture and an even older pink marble dining table. The walls were blue; the floor black. But it was written in the stars.
Even though they didn’t know it then, they were already celebrating before they saw the house. Yes, the angel, her man, and their property agent had quite a few drinks before the viewing. Showing up eventually in a merry mood, breaths smelling as sweet as … erm … alcohol.
And they knew, as the agent walked them around the house, that they had found their home.
But turning a house into home isn’t easy.
Because, well, angels don’t just rest their pretty bum anywhere.
And so they spent many days and many nights dreaming up their little home. But poor Chuck wasn’t a terribly imaginative guy, so the angel waved her magic pens, and drew out the house for him.
His eyes lit up, his brain clicked into gear, and his heart sprung open. Ah! So this is how angels like to live.
They became very busy. Life became a slideshow of floor tiles, paint colours, kitchen cabinets, aluminum windows, glass doors, shower heads and, unfortunately, white toilet bowls.
They were so busy, and so busy saving money to build their home, that they almost forgot.
They almost forgot the reason why.
Why, on one starry starry night in October 2006, an angel fell from the sky.Into a chair.
Next to a man called Chuck.
They are meant for each other. They are meant to be together. And so Chuck, with his promise to give her happiness, decided.
He writes her a story. And he gives it to her.
And then he asks the angel,
“Will you marry me?”

The angel and the man started going out. And they talked on MSN every chance they could. Then one night soon after, she said, “The ball’s in your court.”
