Bahagia Bulletin # – Sprinkled with a new Walkway

Submitted by Gigi on November 3, 2008 – 3:42 pmNo Comment

The workers contracted by the Jalan Besar Town Council have been working hard for our new environment. We see them working in the estate daily.

What the Town Council has done:

  • They built a new walkway / corridor for us.
  • They re-roofed the whole estate of 28 blocks of HDB terrace.

What else is going to be done:

  • They are going to paint the exterior of our walls. In their recent letter addressed to the residents, they mentioned that 2 colours can be chosen. The choices are limited to very neutral creamy or white colours. Afterall the residents do not need to pay a single cent.
The workers in their blue long-sleeved uniforms and yellow caps.

Wheelbarrows, cement, blue canvas, red nettings and danger signs are a common signs in the estate nowadays.

I’m sure layers of dust have been generated, as expected. See my previous entry on this.

    Before and After.
We need to thank the Town Council for building a new leveled pathway (what we call re-screeding with rough sandy floors) and nice beige sandy walls for us. It’s very even now, but bad thing is the neighbour’s children toy car that use to ride up and down on the smooth cement path has become more annoying these days!

      Hi Gigi

The upgrading of new pathway is only at your block there rite, near the HDB flat? The rest of the block? did they upgrad the pathway?

BTW, did your neighbour complain about the BBQ smokes? Coz I’m thinking of BBQ too, but juz afraid that the neighbour might complain.

    • gigi says:

Rest of the blocks – Not very sure about having new pathway…

I hope our neighbours are not unhappy about it in their hearts as we’ve apologized to them once we started the fires. The initial smoke is really terrible.

      Tks Gigi

Oh ya, I’ve forgotten to ask you… When you get the SP man to install the gas piping, how do they charge for the installation?

    • gigi says:

It’s a standard rate by Singapore Power. Can’t remember the exact amount – but it’s about $100.

    • jeanario says:

      Thanks for the info:P
