Toast in 3 Boxes
My colleagues and I were at Wisma Atria Food Republic when I decided to give Toast Box a try!

I’ve seen it at Vivocity and is greatly attracted to their wide variety of toast.

Sister company of home-grown company Bread Talk, Toast Box was set up, I suppose, to compete with other “Kopitiams”. (When I say Kopitiam I mean Killiney or Ya Kun – those modern coffeeshops with kaya bread and good coffee). Toast Box also make their own kaya bottles by the way.
They had the traditional toast on the menu, but I was more interested to diversify to other more interesting items – like their thick toast. I ordered 3 – kaya, pork floss and otah. (They had others like hay bee hiam and chocolate etc though I would rather have my own Nutella on my bread in front of the TV)

Pork floss thick toast. They cut it up in 9 bite-size pieces. Otah was spicy spicy. On the whole, I thought the bread was normal, I really didn’t like it as thick (about 1 inch). They cost about $1.30 to $1.60 each. I’d go for Ya Kun’s kaya traditional toast anytime. The thin crispy ones with butter and kaya.
Ps: Vivocity’s Food Republic atmosphere is definitely better than the one at Wisma. Although the stalls in each food court have the same design concept (the nostalgic feel) and both are very crowded esp during peak hours, Vivocity’s layout with its high ceiling and a lot of antique props probably has a nicer feel to immense in.

Haven’t give it a try yet. But think it will lose to ya kun and Killiney.
Yup I think so too. Toast Box has those fanciful stuff, you won’t find hay bee hiam on bread in ya kun. It’s like having wasabi cheese on your doughnut. Those weird taste stuff to try, once in a while.
For me I think I grew up with butter and kaya. Sometimes peanut. Sometimes nutella.
